Cuboid created the world’s largest charity advent calendar, donating 24 fully stocked 20ft storage containers to 24 charities across the UK, each one filled with toys, essential items and festive supplies for families and individuals who might otherwise go without.
Each container became an advent door. And behind every door was a moment of joy, relief and genuine community impact.
A Simple Idea With Real Meaning
That meant Cuboid used their containers not as storage, but as a way to support charities during one of the busiest and most challenging times of the year. Every container was carefully prepared and filled with items chosen to suit the specific needs of each charity and the people they support.
Beyond the gifts themselves, the containers also gave charities something practical, space to organise, sort and distribute donations efficiently, allowing their teams and volunteers to focus on supporting families rather than managing logistics.
Delivery Day: When the Containers Opened
Delivery day brought the campaign to life.
From loading the containers and tracking the lorries on the road, the journey became part of the story. As each container reached its destination, anticipation built around what was inside.
When the doors finally opened, the reactions were immediate and emotional. Charity teams, volunteers and families were met with containers filled to the brim with gifts and with them, a sense that they had been seen, supported and cared for.
One charity partner captured the impact perfectly:
“People often assume every child wakes up to a present on Christmas morning, but that simply isn’t the reality for many families. This means children who might otherwise go without can experience the joy of Christmas.”
Supporting Charities Across the UK
The advent calendar supported 24 charities, each working with different groups and communities, including children, families, young people and those facing hardship.
Organisations involved ranged from schools and youth centres to food banks, social care teams and wellbeing charities. Each charity used their container in a way that suited them best as a distribution hub, a storage base for donations, or a focal point for community activity during December.
The campaign reached towns and cities across the UK, creating moments of connection and celebration in places where support is needed most.
More Than Storage, For One Month of the Year
For Cuboid, this project was about using resources differently and recognising the role businesses can play in supporting their communities.
Storage containers are usually associated with moves, renovations or business needs. In December, they became something else entirely, a way to deliver kindness at scale.
The campaign showed that sometimes the most impactful ideas are the simplest ones, especially when they’re shaped around real people and real needs.

A Message From Cuboid and FI Property Group
As the final deliveries were completed and the last container doors closed, one thing was clear: small actions, when repeated, can have a powerful collective impact.
From everyone at Cuboid Self Storage and FI Property Group, this project was a reminder of what can happen when businesses, charities and communities work together, especially at a time of year that should be about warmth, generosity and connection.
